About the Indiana Air National Guard
State Mission
Under state law, the Air National Guard provides protection of life, property and preserves peace, order and public safety. These missions are accomplished through emergency relief support during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and forest fires; search and rescue operations; support to civil defense authorities; maintenance of vital public services and counterdrug operations.
Federal Mission
Maintain well-trained, well-equipped units available for prompt mobilization during war and provide assistance during national emergencies (such as natural disasters or civil disturbances). During peacetime, the combat-ready units and support units are assigned to most Air Force major commands to carry out missions compatible with training, mobilization readiness, humanitarian and contingency operations such as Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Our primary mission is Intelligence, which involves gathering, analyzing and interpreting information from a variety of sources to allow leaders to make the necessary decisions to protect and defend our national interests. We also focus on the homeland defense, air support operations, tactical air control party (TACP) and weather.

Once a member separates and/or retires, they can access their entire master personnel file (which includes DD Form 214s, NGB 22s and evaluation reports), without a Common Access Card, through DOD’s milConnect: https://milconnect-pki.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/.

- Select “Correspondence/Documentation” in the upper left corner of the webpage
- Select “Defense Personnel Records Information Retrieval System (DPRIS)”
- Create a DPRIS request when you want copies of documents in your Official Military Personnel File (OMPF)
- Start your request on the 'Request Personnel File' tab
- Get help with request issues on the 'DPRIS Support' tab

About Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF)
OMPF contains all permanent military personnel documents such as the DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, DD Form 4, Enlistment or Reenlistment Agreement - Armed Forces of the United States Oaths of Office, special orders, performance reports, etc. and is electronically maintained in the Automated Records Management System (ARMS).
HQ Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) maintains the master personnel record for all Air National Guard (ANG) and Air Force Reserve (AFR) Airmen regardless of status.
