Colonel (ret) Todd Townsend served 36 years in the Indiana Army National Guard and retired in 2014 as the Vice Chief of Staff for The Adjutant General. Prior to that he was the Commander of Camp Atterbury and held company and battalion command positions in the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade. He is a Master Army Aviator with over 2,200 hours in the UH-1 Huey, UH-60 Blackhawk and C-12 Huron. He was deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 and has been awarded the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star.
