Air Compressor Hose Arm

This INDOT innovation makes air‑powered work safer, more efficient, and less costly. Crews often use portable air compressors during tasks like crack sealing and bridge cleaning, but in the past, hoses were dragged across the ground, causing frequent wear and requiring regular cutting and repairs. Workers also had to hold the heavy hose by hand, which led to fatigue and increased risk of injury.

The air compressor hose arm attaches to the back of a truck and supports the hose while it’s in use. Its lightweight, detachable design allows it to swivel easily around the work zone and remain in place even during refueling. By keeping the hose off the ground and off workers’ shoulders, the arm reduces damage, minimizes repair time, and improves ergonomics.

This simple solution saves time and money while helping crews work more comfortably and safely.
