The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has gone global!
INDOT received multi-continent attention in its role as the featured agency during the 39th annual International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh in mid-July.
As a result, more than 1,000 conference attendees, representing transportation departments, local, state, and national governments, bridge designers, engineers, material suppliers and construction executives, are more familiar with our success. Professionals from North and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa attended the three-day conference.
As the featured agency, INDOT was allocated a three-hour spot during the conference to spotlight recent agency accomplishments. Bridge Management Director Anne Rearick and Director of Bridge Engineering Stephanie Wagner led INDOT’s planning and participation in the conference.
During the research-related special session, Rearick presented on recent and ongoing studies highlighting two projects: A new approach to accelerated fabrication of steel bridges and post-fire assessment of prestressed concrete bridges in Indiana.
Managing Director of Asset Management Louis Feagans presented at the keynote session, focusing on INDOT’s asset lifecycle strategies for managing our bridges.
During the three-hour spotlight, Wagner and other INDOT personnel shared information about the Sherman Minton Renewal project, I-65/I-70 North Split project, and I-69 Finish Line project.
“The conference was a great opportunity for INDOT to highlight all the great work that we are doing, including cutting-edge research, being on the forefront of asset management, and delivering ambitious projects,” said Rearick.
