The INDOT mission focuses on “…connecting Hoosiers with the world.” The Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Division is responsible for research, development, implementation, education and regulation of emerging and transformational technologies in the connected, automated and electric vehicle space. We aim to be a resource and partner that best positions Indiana for the future of transportation.

    • Reduced congestion through technology optimization that allows vehicles to drive closer together to increase vehicle capacity on a given road.
    • Improved mobility and accessibility through the availability of transportation for those unable to or who do not have access to traditional transportation.
