Dear Retiree,
In January 2007, the Human Resources Division notified all Indiana State Police Health Care Plan members about the generic prescription drug programs being offered by major retail chains. These programs offer generic prescriptions for $4, and in the case of Meijer, the prescriptions they offer are free.
Walmart and Target continue to offer 30 day supplies for over 300 prescriptions for $4. A current copy of the list of prescriptions offered is attached for your convenience. Additional information about this program can be found under the Pharmacy section on each of their websites using the links below.†
Kroger has recently joined in this initiative, and also offers over 300 prescriptions for $4. A current copy of the list of prescriptions they offer is also attached. You will need to visit their website using the link below to see if a Kroger pharmacy in your area is offering this opportunity.
Meijer's program focuses on prescriptions that are most often filled for children. Meijer offers six (6) prescriptions for free. These items are attached for your reference.
As members of the Indiana State Police Health Care Plan, we all have the responsibility to do all we can to contribute to the financial health of the plan. Prescription drug costs are a tremendous expense for our plan. By using the programs listed above, not only are you saving yourself money, but you are saving the health insurance plan even more. However, in order to utilize these programs, you must ensure that you do not use your Anthem identification card. If you submit the insurance card, the benefits will process in accordance with the established co-pays in place.
We strongly encourage that you consider these programs as options for your prescriptions. If you have any questions, please contact Benefits Manager Kenny L. Hines at 317-232-8279.
