While performing traffic control duties as the result of several weather-related crashes on I-69 in Dekalb County, Master Trooper Bailey was notified of a vehicle pursuit traveling in his direction involving the Fort Wayne Police Department. The fleeing vehicle struck Master Trooper Bailey as he attempted to deploy stop sticks near mile marker 326. Master Trooper Bailey was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
