Consumer Services and Healthcare Regulation

The Consumer Services and Healthcare Regulation (CSHCR) Commission at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) promotes healthcare quality by coordinating the licensure and certification of health facilities, clinics, centers, and providers; supporting quality initiatives of patient care; ensuring radiation safety among clinical staff; and confirming state standards for weights, measures, and metrology.

Subscribe for Updates

Subscribe

The CSHCR newsletter is a commission-wide initiative to streamline communication formats and create a single resource for all providers across facility types. Through the CSHCR newsletter, IDOH supports the work of stakeholders and providers by offering timely, relevant updates on healthcare facility licensing, certification, and quality initiatives.

Users may opt-in to receive updates from CSHCR on topics that meet their interests/preferences (users may select Acute and Continuing Care, Aide Training Program, Home and Community-Based Care, and/or Long-Term Care). For example, if a subscriber chooses only Acute and Continuing Care, the user will only receive the newsletters that include content from the Division of Acute and Continuing Care.

Federal law requires “covered individuals” to report a reasonable suspicion of a crime against a long-term care resident to IDOH and a local law enforcement entity. Covered individuals include an owner, operator, employee, manager, agent, or contractor of the facility. The included facilities include nursing homes, hospice facilities, or intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
