Each year the Department of Natural Resources fills five seats on its Trails Advisory Board. Every member of the Trails Advisory Board is considered a state representative of their respective user group. They are also asked to send back information to their constituents from the meetings. This is why the Department of Natural Resources looks for individuals who desire to serve and those who also have strong ties with clubs and organizations associated with the particular user group they wish to represent.
In December, we look for nominations for qualified individuals to serve on the Trails Advisory Board. Nominations are accepted from clubs, organizations, and individuals. You may nominate yourself.
In January, we contact all the nominees and request they complete our questionnaire. After reviewing questionnaires, the Department of Natural Resources will notify all candidates of their decision. The best candidate will be appointed to the Trails Advisory Board and will serve a three-year term beginning on March 1.
Nominations will be accepted from Dec. 1-30, 2024 for individuals wishing to represent one of the following user groups:
- All-Terrain Vehicle Users
- Equestrians
- Four-Wheel-Drive Users
- Pedestrians
- Snowmobile Users
To nominate someone to the Trails Advisory Board (TAB), please provide the name and contact information of the person you are nominating. Then specify what available user group they would represent. Next, please list all relevant groups, organizations, and associations they belong to. Feel free to mention any additional information, such as length of membership, offices or positions they’ve held, etc. Then, in your own words, please tell us why they should be appointed to the TAB. Finally, be sure to include your name and contact information.
