How to Apply

Visit on.in.gov/dnrjobs to view all current aquatic positions available and apply.

After completing the application, first year applicants should then return here to complete the required Lifeguard Indiana State Park Test. The test serves as a hiring tool and is not a certification or recertification of any type. Applicants will receive their score at their initial lifeguard interview. Applicants who have already worked at a state park or reservoir facility do not need to take the test again.

Applicants must already be certified in lifeguarding and CPR for the professional rescuer. If an applicant is taking a certification class but has but has yet to finish, he or she may take the Lifeguard Indiana State Park Test  but must complete their certification before being hired. Lifeguards must recertify on their own through local American Red Cross lifeguard certification classes.

The summer outdoor swim season begins Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Open interviews and hiring begins March and runs until all positions are filled.
