The five members of the Indiana Board of Safety Review are appointed by the Governor. The Board conducts hearings on contested IOSHA safety orders.

Authority and Rules of the Board of Safety Review
The Board is authorized under Indiana Code 22-8-1.1, the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Act.
The rules and procedures are found in Title 615 of the Indiana Administrative Code, Board of Safety Review.

Filing with the Board of Safety Review
Persons wishing to file pleadings and papers with the Indiana Board of Safety Review may do so by any of the following methods:
- Filing by personal service.
- Filing by United States mail.
- Electronic filing.
- Any other method approved by the Indiana Rules of Trial Procedure.
Personal Service
Pleadings and papers may be filed with the Indiana Board of Safety Review by personal service during regular Indiana Department of Labor office hours; generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST., except official State of Indiana holidays. Documents to be filed should be delivered to the Indiana Department of Labor reception desk.
Filing by United States mail
Pleadings and papers may be filed with the Indiana Board of Safety Review by United States mail or other courier at the address below. Documents sent via certified or registered mail will be file-marked and deemed “filed” in accordance with the Indiana Rules of Trial Procedure. Documents sent via regular mail will be file-marked and deemed “filed” on the date the documents are received by the Indiana Department of Labor.

Electronic Filing
Pleadings and papers may be filed with the Indiana Board of Safety Review electronically by sending the documents via electronic mail to: boardofsafetyreview@dol.in.gov
The Board of Safety Review will accept electronic filings twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Documents will be deemed “filed” on the date and time the message and documents arrive in the Board of Safety Review electronic mailbox. Electronic filings received after 4:00 p.m. EST and on weekends and holidays will be retrieved by the Secretary for the Board of Safety Review on the following business day. The Board of Safety Review will only accept electronic filings in “Portable Document Format” (.PDF) with a total file size of 20,000 Kilobytes or less (approximately 14.6 MB). Larger files may not clear the State of Indiana computer security gateway.
