Sheriff Work Crew

Sheriff Work Crew

The Grant County Sheriff's Office is pleased to offer the Inmate Work Crew program.  This program allows non-violent inmates to be paid daily during their incarceration of the Grant County Jail to work in the community.  The inmates are transported and are under constant watch by Grant County Sheriff Deputies.

The Deputies in charge of this program thoroughly check each inmate's background before they start working on the crew.  Each inmate must be non-violent to qualify for this program.

The Grant County Sheriff's Inmate Work Crew Program was designed to assist Cities and Community-based organizations within Grant County with lawn mowing, trash removal from lots and roadways, trimming of bushes, picking up of tree limbs, miscellaneous spruce-ups, etc. in communities throughout Grant County.  Currently the city of Marion along with Gas City have assigned work crews. One Deputy is in charge of the rest of the County.

The inmates work as a team and through this program it helps build up their self-esteem by making them feel good about assisting and giving back to their community and the citizens that reside there. We have seen many inmates change their lives around from their success on the Inmate Work Crew.
