The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigates a wide variety of crimes that impact our community. Detectives handle cases ranging from theft, burglary, fraud, and drug trafficking to the most serious offenses such as homicides, child molestation, abuse, and cold cases.

CID detectives combine traditional investigative methods with advanced tools such as digital forensics, cryptocurrency and blockchain tracing, and modern evidence-analysis techniques to uncover the truth and bring offenders to justice. Within the division, general detectives pursue major crimes and sensitive cases involving victims, while narcotics detectives focus on disrupting drug networks and reducing drug-related crime.

Detectives also work closely with local, state, and federal partners—including police departments across Grant County, the Prosecutor’s Office, Indiana State Police, ATF, and FBI—to solve complex cases that cross jurisdictions.
