The Division of Legal, Contracts & Procurement - previously the Division of Legal Services - is the LGFOB's legal support team, the designated purchasing agent authorized to make procurements and solicitations for the LG Executive Office, IDDC, ISDA, and OCRA, the public records officer who handles public records requests (APRA requests), and an active participant on the Interagency LGFOB Policy Workgroup.
What We Specialize In
The Division is responsible for coordinating legal services or procuring outside legal counsel for the LGFOB, when necessary. However, the Division's primary functions are related to procurement, contract management, and policy.
- Delegation of Purchase Authority Program-certified purchasing agents;
- Contract drafting, review, processing and management;
- Processing of Access to Public Records Act (APRA) public records requests;
- Collaboration with the LG Policy Advisor and the LGFOB Policy Working Group;
- Conduct agency/program needs assessments and program evaluations to identify areas for technical assistance;
- Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory policy updates at the state and federal levels, assess potential impacts, draft and implement policy solutions, re-evaluate for efficacy;
- Act as liaison between the Office of Administrative Law Proceedings and the LGFOB agencies that have administrative rules on the books.
