Deputy Health Commissioner & Chief Operating Officer

Jon Ferguson serves as a deputy health commissioner and the chief operating officer for the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). In his roles he helps IDOH find solutions to critical health issues facing Hoosiers.

Prior to working at the state Department of Health, Ferguson served as the chief legal officer for the Indiana Department of Correction. In addition, Ferguson is on the board of directors of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation and is on its executive committee for the Hispanic Lawyers Division.

Ferguson received his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and his juris doctor from Tulane University in New Orleans.
