Guy Crowder, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Crowder received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed post-graduate medical training at the Franciscan Health Family Medicine Residency in Indianapolis, and he is board certified in family medicine.
Before working for the Indiana Department of Health, Dr. Crowder worked with Franciscan Health beginning in 2019. From 2019-2020 he worked as a family physician at Kendrick Family Medicine and as a travel medicine physician for Franciscan Travel Well. In January 2021, he became the medical director of employee health for the Franciscan Central Indiana Region and the Franciscan Travel Medicine department. He was also the medical director for the Franciscan Health-e-Access program and the medical supervisor of the Franciscan Immunizations Clinic.
After residency, Dr. Crowder completed the Diploma Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health at Tulane University in New Orleans. He then completed his master’s degree in public health and tropical medicine at Tulane University. He earned certificates for completing the Advanced Course in Tropical Medicine at the Tropical Medicine Institute of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, and the Asian Clinical Tropical Medicine course in Bangkok, Thailand, at Mahidol University. He received his Certification in Traveler’s Health (CTH) from the International Society of Travel Medicine and his Certification in Clinical Tropical Medicine (CTropMed) from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Dr. Crowder’s medical specialties include travel/tropical medicine, employee health, public health, and family medicine. His work has been recognized in numerous publications and presentations, and he earned his bachelor’s degree in classical culture and civilizations from Ball State University, graduating summa cum laude.
Dr. Crowder and his wife have two daughters.
