About Recovery Works

Purpose

Recovery Works is a state funded initiative that provides financial assistance for behavioral health services to uninsured or underinsured individuals who are justice involved. Funding is used for evidence based substance use treatment, mental health services, and supportive recovery resources to help reduce barriers to care, promote stabilization, and support successful reentry into the community. Participants must also meet minimum eligibility requirements to receive funding.

Goals
Recovery Works focuses on pre-incarceration diversion services and post-incarceration re-entry services, which not only hopes to divert low-level offenders from incarceration to community services, but to contribute to a reduction in overall recidivism rates. Promoting recovery through community support and treatment/intervention is critical in reducing the number of people with mental health and addiction disorders that are entering the criminal justice system.
