Application Process
The Indiana Certified Peer Support Professional application process is exclusively online, accessible through the Certemy portal. All applicants will need to upload a copy of the following documents to complete the application:
- Driver’s License or State Identification Card
- Copy of High School Diploma, GED or highest level of education
All Certified Peer Support Professional applicants are expected to comply with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction’s Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct. The Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct is incorporated into the Certemy portal, and each applicant will be required to sign the attestation following review.
Once the applicant has completed and submitted the application, DMHA’s Recovery team will contact each applicant to schedule a phone interview.
Upon review of the full application, access will be given for the applicant to access available training dates and locations from which to choose. Trainings are conducted at various Ivy Tech locations throughout the state of Indiana.
Fees
At this time, DMHA is absorbing fees associated with becoming a CPSP. Interested participants may complete the training and initial exam at no cost to the individual.

CPSP Certification Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following personal requirements to be eligible to apply for DMHA’s CPSP training and certification
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have personal lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition, substance use or problem gambling and/or
- Have personal lived experience assisting a family member with a mental health condition, substance use or problem gambling
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent*
- Must live or work in Indiana at least 51% of the time
