Field Visits
Field visits are an important part of community supervision and allow officers to maintain contact with individuals outside of the office. Visits may occur at a person’s residence, place of employment, or other approved locations within the community. During a field visit, officers may verify residence or employment, assess compliance with conditions of supervision, address concerns, provide support and resources, and help promote successful supervision in the community.
Field visits may be scheduled or unannounced and, when authorized, may include searches consistent with the individual’s conditions of supervision and applicable law. Visits and searches may also be conducted in coordination with local law enforcement or other public safety partners.
The frequency and nature of field contacts are based on supervision requirements, individual circumstances, and public safety considerations.
