The Howard County Stormwater District is committed to managing water quality in stormwater drainage conveyances to protect the health and welfare of people and the environment. Management includes a mix of mandated and elected activities to provide education, coordination, maintenance, and development of high quality stormwater system in an efficient and cost effective manner. Our goal is to make sure the only thing stormwater contributes to our ditches, drains, tiles and creeks is water.
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)
- The Stormwater District has an MS4 permit from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Compliance with the permit requires six minimum control measures.
