Timothy Dowdy graduated from ILEA in class 97-129 and served 25 years with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. While at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, he served as a patrol officer, Field Training Officer, Accident Reconstructionist, Advanced EVO Instructor, Academy Instructor in charge of Emergency Vehicle Operations Training, and Robbery and Aggravated Assault detective. He was on the Marion County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team which investigated and prosecuted drunk drivers causing serious injury crashes. He also attended the I.M.P.D. Leadership Academy. Tim also served as a mentor while on IMPD.
He received the Medal of Merit, Administrative Officer of the Year, and several Certificates of Commendation from I.M.P.D.
Tim has been married since 1993 and has three sons.
