Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016
Log Cabin Homestead
This project will restore a log cabin that was previously built on school property to replicate a one-room house from the mid-1800s. Student groups will participate in role–playing stations to learn about how pioneer families would have lived and the experiences they would have had during this time period. The students will play outdoor games, tend to a garden, and participate in other pioneer activities. A set curriculum will be written and lessons will be taught for this program by a person who will portray an early settler.
