The free First Brush of Fall paintout annually brings 50 or more artists to Converse to paint the historic register downtown, local farms and Mississinewa Lake area. The public is encouraged to tour the area and talk to as many artists as possible about Indiana’s long history of painting outdoors. The public sees the works painted that day at the judging and sale in the town center park. Community purchased works are donated to a public art collection for future generations.
