Legacy Projects > Columbus Indiana Bicentennial Mural Columbus Indiana Bicentennial Mural

Columbus, Indiana is ranked sixth in the nation in notable architecture projects. Our bicentennial mural will celebrate the legacy of art and design in this community. Students of Ivy Tech, along with area high school students will research the history of our community and design a 70 foot mural for downtown Columbus adjacent to Friendship Alley. The alley is a walkway that stretches from the main merchant’s avenue to a prominent downtown parking facility. Area professionals and stakeholders in are, design, and historic preservation will conduct workshops as part of the course. Students will present design concepts to a selection committee and install/paint the mural by the end of August.
