The Indiana Bicentennial Committee has partnered with the Purdue University EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) program to create the most advanced torch to travel through all 92 counties in fall 2016. An offshoot of the torch relay is a project for Indiana schools. Schools within each county will be provided with a “kid-friendly” scaled version of the torch. Lessons about the past, present and future of each county will provide an opportunity to connect students to their local and state history and will provide a unique way for students to participate in the Bicentennial torch.
