A parade of fire equipment will be displayed down Spring Street in Jeffersonville that features the firefighting history of Indiana, beginning with several hand pumps drawn by horses, followed by chemical engines, Model-T’s and other motorized engines dating to the present time. There will be a photo exhibit of antique fire equipment printed from glass negatives at the Vintage Fire Museum location. The second part of our celebration involves a partnership with the Southern Indiana Arts Council and features photos of firefighters and engines from antique glass plates that have recently come to light. Both parts of the celebration will be completely accessible to the public, relevant to Indiana history, and filmed and photographed for future reference.
