In this three-day camp, students will learn firsthand what it was like to live in Indiana during the 1860s. The students will be enlisted in the Federal or Confederate Army and learn about each group. They will not only learn about battles and the military, but discover the Civil War from a civilian perspective. Each day the student will learn and experience a different aspect of the war, such as military drill, medical care, transportation, historical figures, etc. The Civil War Camp instills a deeper appreciation of our Hoosier heritage and awakens us to the sacrifices of the past so that we may enjoy the many benefits of today.
