In celebration of Indiana’s 2016 Bicentennial celebration, sixteen pop icons, who were former Purdue University students, have been selected by the West Lafayette Public Arts Team (PAT). People will be amazed to learn about an NPR radio personality, a comedy superstar, and a guy named Orville who really can pop! Local artists will be commissioned to paint portraits of each icon. These will be exhibited in Purdue’s Fountain Gallery. A permanent public art display will be created by placing signs bearing the portraits in the near campus area and as large window clings on the West Lafayette Public Library windows.
