Legacy Projects > Historical Reflections of Orland and the Surrounding Area Historical Reflections of Orland and the Surrounding Area

Creating “Historical Reflections of Orland and the Surrounding Area” has been a community effort. Drawing from a variety of contributors and sources, the publication focuses on the contribution Orland has made to Steuben County. The people of Orland have shown tremendous fortitude since its founding as the county’s first settlement in 1834. Various residents share their memories and reflections of the schools, service organizations and many businesses and events that have made the Orland area an outstanding place to live and work in northeast Indiana. Reading the stories about the Underground Railroad and the Fawn River Fish Hatchery inspires youth and young adults. This publication will show what true community spirit is all about!
