We encourage Scouts to do projects that are sustainable and provide a legacy. One way that we plan on doing that this summer is to have each participant in our Day Camps build a Cardinal nest house that will be hung up either in a tree or bush so that cardinals have a place to nest and grow their families. The goal is to build over 3,000 nest houses in seven different counties across the State of Indiana. The cardinal is the state bird. The participants will learn about this bird and the relevance of the bird to this state.
