This poster follows the popular idea of taking a single architectural feature in a region and displaying it in its many variations. In this case, the elements are superimposed on the actual map of their respective townships, just as surveyors laid them out in 1833. It is a statement of geography, architecture and art, with a key to the townships’ history and current land use below the photography. Taking advantage of the unique quilt-like configuration of this county’s townships and their architectural gems, this poster has come to life for the Bicentennial, as a gift and souvenir. Most of all it is a celebration of the hidden jewels that are the townships of Indiana.
