The Marshall County Blueberry Festival was a result of the “Picnic in the Park” on Labor Day weekend celebrating the Sesquicentennial of Indiana in 1966. Chosen for the “Picnic” because of the huge softball tournament held annually on that weekend in Centennial Park, the annual festival will be celebrating both the 200th birthday of Indiana and the “50th” Festival by holding “Another Picnic in the Park”. Special attention will be given by sharing events and memories of the first picnic and the past 49 festivals as we look forward to Labor Day weekend 2016 and the celebration of the Bicentennial.
