Our first famous and historic trees were planted on Earth Day 1998, following an Earth Day celebration which included Representative Andy Jacobs, Jr., singer/songwriter Carrie Newcomer, a Secretary of State candidate, and the children. A tree grafted from one George Washington planted and one whose seed went to the moon, were included in the planting. Ten trees followed as well as red, white and blue flower gardens, benches, a flagpole, a wrought iron fence and an engraved brick area where commemorations include Babyface and Dr. David A. Wolf, alongside our children, educators and community groups.
