Legacy Projects > Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh

Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh is a documentary about a vanished million acre wetland in Northern Indiana, which aired on Indiana public Television in 2012. Since its initial broadcast, the positive response has been overwhelming and change has occurred to restore habitat and promote understanding from affected people in the Kankakee River Valley. We want to re-broadcast the documentary across the state and host live-event screenings at places like the South Shore Convention and Visitors Centers of Northwest Indian and the Center for History in South Bend, with Q & A from the filmmakers and people involved with the Grand Marsh today.
