Legacy Projects > Conner House Revitalization Conner House Revitalization

Exploring the earliest days of Indiana’s statehood through political, environmental and economic themes in one of the state’s oldest historic structures, the William Conner House, Conner Prairie. Conner Prairie Interactive History Park seeks the endorsement of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission for a two-year Conner House Revitalization project culminating in a transformed guest experience that will serve as the centerpiece for Conner Prairie’s celebration of Indiana’s bicentennial.

The first brick structure in Hamilton County, Conner House was the site for the first public meetings for county officials in determining much of the early business of settling the area, including the discussion of the location for a new state capital, which became Indianapolis.
