Legacy Projects > Zionsville Park and Recreation’s Zion Nature Center: Bicentennial Nature Center Network Zionsville Park and Recreation’s Zion Nature Center: Bicentennial Nature Center Network

Project Description

The Zion Nature Center: Bicentennial Nature Center Network (BNCN) draws on the impact of membership in a state-wide nature center coalition, while combining these efforts with the strength and depth of local project impact. Partnering with the Cope Environmental Center and 14+ nature centers state-wide, Zion Nature Center contributes to the development of the state-wide BNCN, supports the Children of Indiana Bicentennial Park (CIBP) environmental education program; and develops, as applicable, a local environmental child-focused bicentennial celebration. Zion Nature Center’s local Bicentennial programming and celebration is targeted to youth and young adults and intended to be hands-on, engaging and inspiring. The intent is to engage youth now, in order to shape a generation of Hoosiers that actively looks to safeguard Indiana’s land, wildlife, and human health.
