Legacy Projects > Living History Day Living History Day

Living History Day is a free field day designed for fourth grade Indiana history students. The previous twelve years of Living history days have focused on the early 1900s to the 1940s. We plan to move back to the 1800s for the bicentennial year to celebrate Indiana’s statehood.

The members and friends of Illiana Antique Power Association will present approximately 24 “hands-on” stations to help students “live history” for one special day under the shade trees. The celebration will reach fourth graders in the Benton, Warren and Fountain counties. Schools are small and the area is isolated by distance from a metropolitan area such as Indianapolis and the day provides resources that can enrich the study of Indiana becoming a state.
