Amber Alert
Amber Alert - TEST

Legacy Projects > Bicentennial Garden Makeover Bicentennial Garden Makeover

The Bicentennial Garden Makeover is celebrates the Bicentennial with the use of Indiana’s state flag colors of deep blue and gold/yellow plant material. The Makeover is meant to inspire viewers with an example of beautifying one’s workplace to celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial. The project creates a scenic community space for pedestrians on the Government Campus.

The Bicentennial Garden Makeover entails clearing out 5 beds on the east (Senate Ave) side of the Indiana State Library and augment the soil in those beds. In the background, two symmetrical larger beds contain three trees each and will be supplemented with vinca as ground cover and gold Daylilies in the corners. Between these two beds, in the middle of the stairs is a raised limestone planter. It will be cleared and planted with Black-eyed Susans. In the foreground, two larger raised planters at the sidewalk perimeter will be cleared, the banner stands straightened and plantings of Speedwell and gold Daylillies will replace prior plant material.
