Certified Peer Support Professionals Certification Renewal

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction requires Certified Peer Support Professionals to renew their certification every two years. Each two-year renewal cycle requires 40 CEU’s (20 CEU’s per year) to remain active.

All Certified Peer Support Professionals are expected to comply with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction’s Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct. The Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct is incorporated into the Certemy portal, and CPSPs will be required to sign the attestation following review.

To renew your certification, you will need the following:

  • A current CHW/CRS Certification or a CPSP Certification that is active and in good standing
  • Completed CEU’s approved and verified by DMHA
  • Complete a DMHA approved Ethics training annually
  • Complete a CPSP Renewal Application via the Certemy Portal

Fees

At this time, there is no fee for the certification renewal process, and an examination is not required for renewal.

Renewal applicants will no longer receive a physical renewal a certificate. DMHA will issue one physical certificate at certification. Renewals will be posted on the Certemy portal with the active date, etc. for purposes of applicant and employer verification.

To apply for a renewal, CPSPs will receive an email notification to submit a renewal application electronically through the Certemy portal.

Continuing Education

The following trainings and events have been approved by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction as eligible Continuing Education for all Indiana Certified Peer Support Professionals. This includes all peers previously certified as a CHW/CRS.
