The Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) prioritizes behavioral health related needs of Indiana's courts and the litigants they serve. The office connects judicial officers and justice system stakeholders to resources in their communities and provides education on matters of behavioral health. The office supports the Behavioral Health Committee in equipping justice system stakeholders with best practices to recognize and respond appropriately to mental health, substance use, and co-occurring conditions in the courts.

Hon. Michael J. Kramer AOT Program Initiative
AOT stands for Assisted Outpatient Treatment, a type of court ordered civil commitment for individuals with severe mental illness. An AOT program is more than just a court order. It is a structured program, built around the court order, which includes an active and involved treatment team and a court/judge, who monitor an individual’s treatment progress and operate with compassion.
