Permit Auctions

The Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission will hold an alcoholic beverage permit auction at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Indiana Government Center South Building, 1st Floor, Auditorium at 302 W Washington St in the city of Indianapolis, to auction the below listed permits.

Fully and properly completed pre-bid applications are due no later than Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Any applications received after that date will not be accepted, unless they have a November 26, 2024, postmark date. In-person submission of pre-bid applications at the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission is the most assured way to confirm they have been completed properly and accepted.

The Pre-Bid Application can be accessed by clicking here.

Further Information:

  • Complete all fields on the form, and include any attachments, if needed, for any answers to questions on the form. (example attachments would be a list of Indiana alcohol permits any owners have an interest in, criminal conviction information, violations information, etc)
  • Attach security deposit, according to fee schedule, with pre-bid application. Payment must be in the form of a certified check or cashier’s check only.
  • NOTE: Pre-bid applications will only be for bidding within a specific permit type and jurisdiction. Submitting pre-bid application(s) for a permit type and jurisdiction will automatically enter you in ALL of the auctions of that specific permit type and jurisdiction.
    • Example: If submitting only 1 pre-bid applications for a Beer Wine & Liquor - Restaurant (210) permit within Indianapolis, you would be automatically entered in each of the 2 unique permit auction numbers of that type and jurisdiction, regardless of the unique auction permit number you write on the form. In this example, if you are the successful bidder on 1 auction of that permit type and jurisdiction, you will no longer be eligible to bid on the second auction within that permit type and jurisdiction, since that would be the number of pre-bid applications of that permit type and jurisdiction submitted. The number of pre-bid applications that are submitted for a permit type and jurisdiction will be the maximum potential number a bidder is allowed to be the successful bidder on, within that permit type and jurisdiction.
    • Pre-bid applications will still need submitted for each separate permit type and jurisdiction that a bidder wishes to participate in.
  • A successful bidder at the auction will only be able to have their security deposit refunded if their application is later denied. If the successful bidder fails to submit an application within 30 days after the auction, the security deposit will not be refunded. Unsuccessful bidders will be returned their pre-bid applications by mail following the auction.

Additional written information will follow on the procedures of the auction.
