Bob Deig was appointed to the Commission on Jan. 12, 2026, by Governor Mike Braun.

Commissioner Deig is a former member of the Posey County Council, Posey County Commission, and Vanderburgh County Council, serving on many local boards and state committees.

Additionally, he was an Indiana State Senator, District 49, representing Posey, Gibson, and Vanderburgh Counties from 2006 - 2009 and served on the Senate Appropriations and Senate Utilities & Technology Committees.

Commissioner Deig worked as a third-party administrator, on the state-wide Indiana Energy Efficiency program and has worked on many energies related positions throughout his career, including electric, gas, steam, water, and wastewater.

Commissioner Deig and his wife Dee reside in Evansville and have 6 children and 6 grandchildren.
