The Carroll County artist’s retrospective exhibition will feature notable artists who were educated and known professional throughout the area. For example, Leroy Trobaugh was a prolific painter and collaborated with Harry Milroy to form the Delphi Art Club in 1922. Milroy painted but also sculpted many items which were widely known, and many are still displayed around his former homestead. Margaret MacDonald Pullman and her sister Mary MacDonald of Camden were also published artists of note.
Andrew Wolever was a prolific photographer who captured hundreds of important images which have been preserved. In more recent times, the visual arts community has been vibrant, with clubs and annual shows for many decades that have encouraged arts participation by residents of all ages, and some of their work will be included. Many of the artworks are still in Carroll County but are rarely seen by many members of the public. This exhibition will provide an opportunity for current citizens to become familiar with numerous artists of the past and present and learn about the area’s artistic heritage.
