This book is a result of several years of collecting pictures and newspaper stories about our Hoosier Heritage in the central Indiana small town of Camden, located along the banks of Deer Creek in Carroll County. From 1832 when it was a muddy tract with 5 cabins to the present it has been a warm friendly town with many concerned and hard working citizens who kept the community alive and growing with its own unique festivals and traditions. Many triumphs and tragedies are described and many, many pictures shown of the town from throughout the years, many never seen before. The book contains more than 170 pages of information and pictures of the people, churches and businesses of the town. It is our hope that our contribution to the celebration of Indiana’s Bicentennial will be received by those interested in our past, young and old alike, available to all, and will be considered as a lasting legacy for times to come.
