Fuel Tax E-file

As mandated by the Indiana Legislature, fuel taxes must be filed electronically. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) allows customers to transmit electronic tax returns from their computer to the Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR). The Fuel Tax EDI Implementation Guide describes the program details and provides the instructions required for program development.

Submitting EDI Files through INTIME

Fuel tax customers must use INTIME to file and pay tax obligations. All Fuel tax accounts are viewable via INTIME on the “Summary” tab. Select the “All Actions” tab to upload an EDI file or manually key any of the following returns.

  • Gasoline Tax Form MF-360 and related schedules
  • Special Fuel Tax Form SF-900 and related schedules
  • Transporter Tax Form SF-401 and related schedules
  • Terminal Operator Report Form FT-501 and related schedules

Form instructions can be found on the Fuel Tax Forms page. Do not submit these forms. DOR cannot process the PDF forms. All fuel tax forms must be submitted electronically through INTIME or SFTP.

For fuel tax rates, visit the Miscellaneous Tax Rates page.

For more information on using INTIME, refer to the INTIME Guide for Business Tax Customers. Contact edifile@dor.in.gov with additional questions.
