Criminal and Addictive Thinking
Criminal and Addictive Thinking (CAT): CAT is aimed at encouraging participants to look at events and consider thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that they experienced when the events that led them to problem behavior occurred. An introduction to Thinking Reports is made which focuses on core beliefs, alternative thoughts, alternative behaviors, thinking distortions, thinking patterns, and tactics. Participants are asked to put all of these parts together in a one process which forms the Thinking Report. By identifying patterns, this process challenges participants to make changes where needed.
Expectations: All participants are required to attend the program on time and participate in a non-disruptive manner. Any rude or disrespectful behavior towards facilitators or other participants may result in removal and discharge of the program. Active participation in group discussions and activities is important and necessary. Rules and guidelines will be set by facilitators and participants together. Failure to follow the rules could result in not passing a step or removal and discharge of the program. NO one will be permitted to attend group who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any other mood-altering drug.
