    Hon. Jon Costas

    Represents District 1 until June 30, 2017

    Jon Costas is a long-term Valparaiso resident who has been involved in his community in many ways. He began his political career in 1985, winning an at-large seat on the Valparaiso City Council. He has been Mayor since 2004 and has made a name for himself as an extraordinary leader who advocates both careful planning and positive action. A 1975 graduate of Valparaiso High School, Jon received his B.A. from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana, and his law degree with high distinction from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1989. Mr. Costas is an attorney with Burke, Costanza, and Cuppy LLP, and specializes in the field of Elder Law, having obtained his certification in elder law from the National Law Foundation. He is also an adjunct professor at Valparaiso Law School.

    Mr. Christopher Murphy, III

    Represents District 2 until June 30, 2018

    Chris Murphy is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of 1st Source Corporation and Chairman and Chief Executive Office of 1st Source Bank, a South Bend-based financial institution with more than $3.2 billion in assets. Mr. Murphy has a strong educational background having received a B.A. in Government from the University of Notre Dame, an M.B.A. (with Distinction) from Harvard University Business School, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School. In additional to his responsibilities at 1st Source, Mr. Murphy has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the World Presidents' Organization in 2002 and has been a board member for several years.

    Mr. John Popp

    Represents District 3 until June 30, 2017

    John Popp has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aunt Millie's Bakeries, Inc., since 1980. From 1954 to 1956, Popp was the US Army Chief of review and analysis division of ordinance training command at Aberdeen,  MD. Popp is also a real estate developer and has served on several different boards.

    Ms. Lisa Hershman

    Represents District 4 until June 30, 2017

    Lisa Hershman is the Founder and CEO of The DeNovo Group™, a global consulting, training, and research firm focused on leadership and innovation through process management and redesign. DeNovo is a global leader in process consulting services, whose clients range from the Fortune 500 to a rapidly growing practice in the non-profit and government sectors. Hershman earned her degree from Clarkson University, studying engineering and industrial distribution.

    Mr. Chris LaMothe

    Representative of District 5 until June 30, 2018   Chris LaMothe is currently Executive Vice President of the Transportation and Industrial Sector for Element Materials Technology. Chris joined Element with the purchase of Sherry Laboratories where he served as  Chairman and CEO of Sherry Holdings LLC, a diversified testing company with ten laboratories in Indiana, Louisiana  and Oklahoma serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, nuclear, medical device and instrumentation, petrochemical, air, food and environmental. He also serves or has served on the Board of a number of civic groups, including the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank Advisory Board, Junior Achievement of Central Indiana, The Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis 500 Festival Board, Indiana University Business School Board of Visitors, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and TM Youth Foundation. LaMothe is a graduate of Ball State University with a BS in marketing and received his MBA from Indiana University.

    Mr. Michael "Jud" Fisher

    Represents District 6 until June 30, 2015

    Jud Fisher is responsible for managing the Ball Brothers Foundation in Muncie. He joining the Foundation in 2003 after working in administration for Old National Signature Group. A Michigan native, Mr. Fisher is a graduate of DePauw University and the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy.

    Mr. Dennis Bland

    Represent District 7 until June 30, 2016

    Dennis Bland is the President of the Center for Leadership Development in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he also lives. Dennis Bland received his primary and elementary education through Indianapolis Public Schools and attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana following his graduation from Broad Ripple High School. After graduating from DePauw with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, he went on to obtain his juris doctorate degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.

    Ms. Caren Whitehouse

    Represents District 8 until June 30, 2015 

    Caren Whitehouse is the Executive Director of the Vanderburgh County Medical Society in Evansville, Indiana.  The Vanderburgh County Medical Society, formed in 1845, serves as the professional organization for physicians in Southwest Indiana. In her role as Executive Director, Ms. Whitehouse also serves the community on the Southwestern Healthcare Board of Directors, Gilda's Club of Evansville Board of Directors, the Southwest Indiana Area Health Education Center Advisory Board, the Community Patient Safety Coalition of Southwestern Indiana and the Rotary Club of Evansville.

    Mr. Dan Peterson

    Represents District 9 until June 30, 2016

    Dan Peterson is Vice President, Industry & Government Affairs, for Cook Group, Inc., based in Bloomington, Indiana. Since joining Cook Group in 1989, Dan has held a variety of leadership roles in the areas of operations, finance/accounting and human resources. His current responsibilities involve industry, government and external affairs. His primary areas of focus center on policy and programs in healthcare delivery, as well as economic, education and workforce development. Dan sits on many boards including the Indiana Dept. of Workforce Development State Workforce Innovation Council; BioCrossroads; Indiana Health Industry Forum; Bloomington Economic Development Corp.; and Indiana University Health Bloomington. Mr. Peterson holds a B.S. in Biology (1984) and an MBA in Finance (1989), both from the Indiana University.     Dr. Gerald Bepko

    Gerald L. Bepko was first appointed at Indiana University in the School of Law - Indianapolis in 1972 and served the university in various capacities for 32 years until his retirement in 2004. As Chancellor for seventeen years, he presided over significant changes including enrollment changes, increased research support, physical consolidation of the campus to West Michigan Street and a successful capital campaign for IUPUI which produced more than one billion dollars. In his last year of work as a university executive, Bepko served as Interim President of IU, in between Myles Brand's departure to become head f the NCAA and the appointment of Adam Herbert. Bepko earned a B.S. from Northern Illinois, a JD from the IIT Chicago Kent College of Law, and the LLM from Yale.

    Mr. Allan Hubbard

    Al Hubbard is the co-founder of E&A Industries. Except for his time in government service, Hubbard has been the chairman of E&A Industries since 1977. During his government service, Hubbard was the White House deputy chief of staff for Vice President Dan Quayle, executive director of the president's council on competitiveness under the administration of George H.W. Bush and assistant to the president for economic policy and director of the national economic council under George W. Bush. He has also served on boards for for-profit and not-for-profit groups.
