Description of rule		OVERVIEW: Amends Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) rules governing animal carcass disposal. Amends 345 IAC 7-7 to authorize the state veterinarian to approve an extension of time or alternate method for animal carcass disposal in response to an animal disease outbreak, weather emergency, or other catastrophic event. The proposed rule authorizes disposal of animal carcasses and condemned and inedible waste by above ground burial and establishes standards for this method, and adds a new section to relocate burial standards for animal carcasses and condemned and inedible waste and amends these standards. The rule clarifies what constitutes thoroughly and completely composted, incinerated, and digested material, and also clarifies the requirements for commercial carcass and inedible waste disposal facilities.
