Jail Overview
Due to our inmate population increasing and the need to keep security a top priority, additional bunks were added in 2020. The facility was able to add 10 additional bunks to each of our 5 general population cells in each dorm area. Based on the addition of the new beds, our rated capacity increased from 175 to 213.
The facility now has 198 general population beds (some of which can be used for special housing such as administrative/disciplinary segregation or Protective Custody), 14 fixed beds in intake holding, 1 padded cell, 1 medical isolation cell, and 1 large intake holding cell for intoxicated or overflow inmates. Of the 213-bed capacity, 38 of these beds may be used by the female population.

Property
As of February 19, 2018, the Harrison County Jail will no longer be accepting socks, t-shirts, or any other clothing items for any inmate. All clothing must be purchased from www.careacell.com and will be mailed to the jail or inmates may purchase off of commissary.
Sending Money
Inmate commissary deposits can be made 24 hours a day 7 days a week through www.vendengine.com, or by calling phone# 1-855-836-3364. You will need a credit or debit card, the inmate's name, and Inmate #. Inmate phone time may be purchased through www.securustech.net.
Sending Mail
Inmates within the Harrison County Correctional Facility can receive mail during the time in which they are incarcerated. Mail is distributed Monday through Saturday. All mail, except for “legal mail”, is opened and inspected for contraband and security breaches according to federal guidelines. Mail that is about a legal matter is opened in the presence of the inmate to whom it is addressed. All books and magazines have to be mailed from a publisher company, not from individuals.
