Police

Minimum Requirements for Sworn-Officer/Deputy Positions

  1. Must be 21 years of age prior to graduation from Police Academy
  2. Must be a US Citizen
  3. Have a high school diploma or GED
  4. Possess a valid driver’s license
  5. Must have correctable vision to 20/40
  6. Must possess auditory acuity that is within normal range in both ears
  7. Pass a pre-employment test with a score of at least 80%
  8. Pass a Physical Fitness Assessment at the ILEA Exit Standards
  9. Pass a Background Investigation
  10. Pass a Polygraph Examination
  11. Pass a Medical Examination and Drug Screen
  12. Pass a Psychological Examination
  13. Pass a Command Staff Interview
